This sleek and sophisticated home belongs to Jake and Selbi, who are living it up in their fabulous newly designed family home.

The couple picked this property as they knew it had fantastic renovation potential and also it's in a great location. Jake has lived in Battersea for his entire life and loves the area, so he had his heart set on buying local. They moved into the flat in 2020 and lived in it for a year as it was, which was slightly smaller, a bit run down and the garden was wild and overgrown. They completed their renovation project in 2022, and the transformation of this home really is something to behold, as not only did we extend it but we totally redesigned the layout.

The bathroom was previously an awkward narrow shape, as half of it was closed off due to it being an exit to the garden via the room next door. We removed this exit and pushed the space through into the bathroom where the shower is, in order to maximise the space. The room next door was previously a small and outdated kitchen, which we converted into their baby's nursery room. The nursery is gorgeous, cosy and a much more practical use of the space.

They had a storage cupboard in the hallway which we converted into a WC to give them an extra bathroom. The flat was already a two-bed so, through converting the kitchen to the baby room, the other two rooms were still left to utilise, giving them a master bedroom and a separate room for a home office.

The corridor opens up into a beautiful kitchen and dining area, with the extension on the end set up as a living space, which they've made extra homely with a Ligne Roset sofa. The previously overgrown garden has now been paved to give it a much more modern feel, with a shed coming off the extension for bike storage. The flat is absolutely gorgeous and the space they have feels incredibly well utilised.

We were recommended Resi by a friend. We explored other options too, but were sold by being able to get everything from one place. The process was really enjoyable, we loved the design meetings and the dashboard was a huge selling point for us.

We knew it would be tricky to get planning for this project as we're in a conservation area, and no one nearby has done a flat roof extension. We were worried about it, and we thought we'd run into problems. Resi navigated securing planning for us with ease, and we got permission first time round.

I work from home 5 days a week. I could go into the office, but I love the flat so much I never want to leave.
